Courses
Create, share, and monitor standalone courses.
Courses are the main learning resource in Kokobi. A course combines localized information, SCORM modules, learner access, and progress reporting.
Create a Course#
- Open Admin > Courses.
- Select Create Course.
- Enter a name and description.
- Choose the completion rule.
- Save the course, then add its learning content from the Modules tab.
The language selector in the admin header controls the locale you are editing. Add a name, description, and module for every locale you plan to offer.
Completion Rules#
The completion rule determines which status reported by the SCORM module makes the course successful.
| Rule | Course is successful when the module reports |
|---|---|
| Passed | passed |
| Completed | completed |
| Either | passed or completed |
Use Either unless the content has a specific assessment or compliance requirement. See SCORM 1.2 and 2004 for details about status reporting.
Add Course Content#
Open the course and use the Modules tab to upload a SCORM ZIP package. Kokobi validates the archive, detects SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004, and makes the module available for preview.
Add and preview a module before inviting learners. Kokobi does not prevent access to a course with no module, but learners cannot launch it. Preview checks loading, navigation, and media; it does not save runtime data or represent a tracked learner attempt.
Give Learners Access#
Kokobi supports several course access paths:
- Email invitations: Invite one or more learners from the course's Learners area. You can choose whether Kokobi sends the invitation email.
- Join link: Copy the public course link and distribute it through your own channel. A learner without an existing invitation uses this page to request access.
- Access requests: Learners can request an available course. Review requests and accept or reject each one.
- Collections: A learner connected to a collection receives access to the courses in that collection.
An invitation or request remains pending until it is accepted. The course learner views separate active learners, pending invitations, and pending requests.
Share with Another Organization#
Course sharing grants another organization access to a course without transferring ownership.
- Open the course's Sharing tab.
- Invite an organization you belong to, or enter an organization ID.
- The receiving organization accepts or rejects the invitation.
Organizations can also request access to a course. The course owner can accept, reject, or later remove a sharing connection. Sharing actions require the corresponding course permission.
Monitor Progress#
The course overview provides:
- Total learners and attempts.
- Total and percentage of terminal attempts.
- Average completion time.
- Storage used by course modules.
- A breakdown of learner attempt statuses.
The learner table shows each learner's latest attempt, status, score when reported, and how they received access. Depending on your permissions, you can preview a learner's progress, resend a completion email, or remove the learner from the course.
Learner attempt statuses include not-started, in-progress, completed, passed, and failed. Kokobi derives these values from the SCORM runtime data saved by the module. Statistics treat completed, passed, and failed as terminal attempts, so inspect the status breakdown when measuring successful outcomes.
Archive or Delete a Course#
Archive a course when you want to take it out of normal use without deleting it. Archived courses can be restored, but archiving removes the course from every collection. Restoring it does not restore those collection assignments or their ordering.
Delete a course only when its data is no longer needed. Deletion is permanent. If a course belongs to a collection, consider removing it from that collection or archiving it first.
